Child in Mind is offering two NEW groups for teenagers ages 13-17

1) Connect and Create Teen Social Group

In this group, teenagers will enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, engaging in board games, conversations, art projects, music and forming new friendships in a safe space.

Ages 13-17

Session Dates: Thursday April 11th, 18th, 25th, May 2nd, 9th, 16th; Time: 6:30-8pm

2) Social Anxiety Group for Teens VIRTUAL

These 7-week groups are for teens who are struggling with anxiety that interferes with their everyday routines, social and family life, and/or academic functioning. The group will bring participants through the process of understanding their anxiety, and learning how to detect and manage unhelpful thoughts and feelings using various strategies from a cognitive-behavioural approach.

Ages 13-17

Dates: Wednesday May 1, May 8, May 15, May 22, May 29, June 5 & 12

Location & Time: Virtual – 7:00pm-8:30pm

Cost: $600 ($100/week). Our services are covered by most extended health benefits plans. Please confirm with your insurance provider that you have coverage for psychological services.

Daily Plan

Introducing our first Studio Camp! You will do everything you love to do at the Studio in a five full day camp while exploring the arts in our Community. Imagine an exciting week with friends while creating with wood, clay, paint, soil and food!

Monday – “Let’s Go Camping” – a day at the Studio beginning with a wood working project, campfire lunch, games and getting to know each other!

Tuesday – “Art In The Park” – a private tour of the Art Gallery followed by a picnic lunch in Majors Hill Park. An afternoon of creating with our morning inspiration.

Wednesday – “Garden Day” – a tour of the Experimental Farm Gardens followed by a vegetarian lunch. An afternoon filled with soil, plants and creating.

Thursday – “Tourist In Your Own Town” – A morning in the Byward Market exploring with camera in hand followed by a restaurant lunch out. An afternoon as a baker making Beaver Tails.

Friday – “Chef For a Day” – Yes Chef! Cook in a professional kitchen for friends at the Studio. Enjoy lunch at the Studio and we will have a party to end our week.
