BEING Studio’s Fall Arts Programming list has finally arrived!
The studio offers variety of programming for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Starting in September, we have Monday-Friday day programs, Tuesday Evenings, Saturday Mornings, and Saturday afternoon sessions available to give artists plenty of time to unleash their creativity. Learn new skills, try new art mediums and unleash your creativity in a supportive environment.

Muscle and Proprioception Activation for Skill Acquisition and Sports Generalization

• Neurodivergent Adults and Teens (15 years and over)
• All abilities (independent or with your own 1:1 support)
Location: Beaverbrook Community Centre, 2 Beaverbrook Rd, Kanata, ON, K2K 1L1
Time: Every Wednesday from July 3 to August 31 at 11:00 AM
Details:
Join our program for a unique experience in interaction with global sports adapted by Glassbox Fitness Neurodiversity.
Limited to 14 participants per class.
Packages:
- 7-Class Pack:
Register for 7 sessions of your choice

Register for 9 sessions of your choice

• Enquire about availability prior to making an e transfer
• If classes are full:

• Week 1 (July 3rd): Floor Hockey (Canada), Gaelic Football (Ireland)
• Week 2 (July 10th): Boccia (Italy), Croquet (England)
• Week 3 (July 17th): Sepak Takraw (Thailand), Handball (Global)
• Week 4 (July 24th): Corrida do bambolê com bastão (Brazil), Ulu Maika (Hawaii)
• Week 5 (July 31st): Quidditch (USA): Adapted sport from Harry Potter, Hawaiian Sport (specific sport TBD)
• Week 6 (August 7th): Floor Hockey (Canada): Repeated to focus on skill acquisition, Gaelic Football (Ireland): Repeated to focus on skill acquisition
• Week 7 (August 14th): Sepak Takraw (Thailand): Team vs. team play, Handball (Global): Team vs. team play
• Week 8 (August 21st): Quidditch (USA): Final practice session, Corrida do bambolê com bastão (Brazil): Final practice session
• Week 9 (August 28th): Ulu Maika (Hawaii)
Session Structure:
• First Session: Focus entirely on practicing the skills for both sports.
• Second Session: First 15 minutes practicing the skills, then 15 minutes either playing team against team or focusing on soft sport skills with teamwork.
