A: The Tuesday Supplement is an optional add-on for enrolled participants, providing additional Tuesday afternoon activities focused on fitness and life skills. The $150 bi-weekly fee is added to your existing payment if you’re already enrolled, with no additional deposit required.

🔎HBC Detectives – Social Skills Program

A Fun and interactive Way to Help Your Child Learn New Social Skills

HBC Detectives is a fun and interactive program for children aged 8 to 13 and teens aged 14 to 17 who want to improve their social skills. During this 9 week interactive program, the detectives will work together to solve a mystery while learning how to maintain friendships, have a conversation, read others’ body language, understand others jokes and sarcasm, and a variety of other social skills. In addition to the weekly meetings, each child will be involved in an individual check-in during each session to address any difficulties and gauge their understanding of concepts. The children will have assignments to work on at home to help solidify their understanding of concepts addressed in the meetings. HBC Detectives is a fun way to improve your child’s social skills and have a blast!

❄️ACT Learning’s Winter Group Programs

CHILDREN’S FRIENDSHIP GROUP

Ages: 9 to 12
Dates:
January 14 to April 1, 2025 (no session week of March Break)
Time: Tuesdays, 5 to 6 PM

The Children’s Friendship Group is an 11-week program in support of neurodiverse elementary school-aged children who struggle to make and maintain friends.

What to expect:

  • A fun and welcoming environment for children to learn skills to meet and make friends.
  • An evidence-based, skill-building group for children.
  • Weekly caregivers’ group (held at the same time as the children’s group) to get the tools and knowledge to become social coaches for your children.

TEEN NEURODIVERSITY GROUP

Ages: 13 to 17
Dates:
January 23 to April 3, 2025 (no session week of March Break)
Time: Thursdays, 5 to 6 PM
Location
: Lancaster
Cost: $700

Calling all teens! Our 10-week teen group is a chance to make friends and take part in activities (suggested by youth) in a warm and welcoming space!

What to expect:

  • Soft coaching around social skills, group rules, boundaries, consent etc.
  • Teens collaborate with group facilitators to choose activities they want to participate in.
  • Crafts, video game night, board games, low-cost outings etc.

2SLGBTQIA + TEEN NEURODIVERSITY GROUP

Ages: 13 to 17
Dates: January 23 to April 3, 2025 (no session week of March Break)
Time: Thursdays, 6:30 to 7:30 PM
Location: Lancaster
Cost: $700

Our upcoming 2SLGBTQIA+ 10-week group is a chance to make friends and take part in activities (suggested by youth) in a warm and welcoming space! This group will be a place where you can share, laugh and hang out with like-minded people!

What to expect:

  • Soft coaching around social skills, group rules, boundaries, consent etc.
  • Teens collaborate with group facilitators to choose activities they want to participate in.
  • Crafts, video game night, board games, low-cost outings etc.

🔭Virtual Astronomy Program (ages 9-16)

Autistic youth are invited to join Autism Ontario on a highly visual and educational 6-week program with a professional astronomer from Astronomy in Action to guide you through the cosmos! Each week you will venture farther into the universe as you explore the night sky, constellations, planets, stars, galaxies, and so much more! They encourage participants to guide their adventure through curiosity and questions! Join Autism Ontario Tuesdays, November 5 to December 10 from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm
