Today Developmental Services Ontario Eastern Region (DSOER) and Service Coordination Support (SCS) proudly launches MyRoomie, a new online platform, designed to help people with developmental disabilities connect with others seeking roommates and shared living arrangements in the Eastern Region.
For many people with developmental disabilities and their families, finding suitable independent living arrangements can be challenging. This resource was created to help address that need by supporting individuals as they explore housing options, make connections, and take an active role in decisions about where and how they live.
The platform offers three unique functions designed to support shared housing searches and connections:
- Search for potential roommates
- View available shared housing opportunities
- Connect with other families interested in collaborative housing arrangements
For many individuals and families, the path to independent living begins with finding the right support network and housing arrangement. MyRoomie was created to help facilitate those connections and provide a practical resource for those taking the next step toward exploring independence. This resource is available to all individuals who are registered with DSOER.
