Keshet Community Connections (KCC)- Provides integration aides for children at local summer camps and year-round in community settings. Our integration aids support children within their chosen community settings for therapeutic recreation programs. By working with Tamir’s BCBA consultant, the families build objectives for each child promoting autonomy, social skills, and friendships.

To begin the process, we invite families to fill out the application form online and you will be contacted by the Keshet Community Connections Supervisor and/or the BCBA consultant to complete the intake process and help us get to know your child.

Camp Summary

Camp Kaleidoscope – an all Day Summer Respite Camp for children diagnosed within the Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Children at Risk’s objectives with a Specialized Camp is to provide a recreational camp that will accommodate the deficits of autism such as communication, socialization and behaviour seamlessly whilst allowing the Camper to have the stimulation, excitement and fun, summer camp is a right of any child regardless of the severity of their disability.

Inclusion/ Additional Support: Each individual responds differently to their surroundings, which includes the location, the staff, the program, and other stimuli or triggers. We are always willing to discuss a situation, to see if we are able to provide this well needed support.

Camp Summary

The following activities are offered for the upcoming summer camp program:

Gardening, hobby farms (lamas, horses, sheep, emus, ostriches, peacocks, and more), museum excursions, nature trails, swimming, arts & crafts, baking, mini putt, bowling, laser tag, games & leisure (bingo, yahtzee, monopoly, XBox Kinect, etc.), movie outings (Imax or local theatre), boat cruises, back yard camping & picnics, and amusement parks (parc safari, theme park, and water parks). Destiny’s Way is always willing to work with any child or adult, no matter the age.

Camp Summary

A fun camp where Tier 1 ASD/ADHD Teens ages 12-17 will learn the Social& Life Skills needed to be more independent, and make new friends.
Lessons revolve around fun outings.

Skills we cover:
• Learning to use public transit, and Petro Pass, OC Transpo Planner, Google Maps, Bus Passes, how to ride a bus
How to pay using either tickets/pass/presto or transfer.
• Planning the bus route for the day or week
• Emergency situations: Missed stops, If a student gets lost, Location of Yellow call boxes
• What to do if left alone on the bus or left alone at a stop
• Where to sit on the bus
• Who not to sit next to
• What to do w/ backpacks
• Losing tickets and transfers
