CHEO School Support Services

CHEO understands that attending school can be a challenge for children of all ages on the autism spectrum. CHEO’s School Support Services offer a range of services to help remove barriers to success in school. Their goal is to help children and youth with ASD overcome school-related obstacles and feel confident going to school. They offer the following:

Ottawa Inclusive Recreation Programs

The City of Ottawa’s Inclusive Recreation unit helps individuals with disabilities to take part in community recreation, whether it be through specialized programs or integration in standard programs.

TAMIR Sunday Respite Program: Sunday Funday

The children will engage in fun activities throughout the day.

The program will focus on enhancing social skills in an inclusive manner to provide individualized service for children with disabilities and children with Autism.

Activities will include dance, drawing and painting, outdoor activities, music,board games and getting involved with the community.

Parents are responsible for lunch/snacks and personal items. The programs will be clinically supervised by a BCBA.

TAMIR After-School Program: Adventure Club

Youth will engage in interesting physical and recreational activities throughout the day. The program will focus on enhancing social skills in an inclusive manner to provide individualized service for youth with disabilities and youth with Autism. Activities will include field trips, painting, drawing, outdoor activities, computers, video games, board games, music, etc.
