HBC Detectives – Social Skills Program
A Fun and interactive Way to Help Your Child Learn New Social Skills
HBC Detectives is a fun and interactive program for children aged 8 to 13 and teens aged 14 to 17 who want to improve their social skills. During this 9 week interactive program, the detectives will work together to solve a mystery while learning how to maintain friendships, have a conversation, read others’ body language, understand others jokes and sarcasm, and a variety of other social skills. In addition to the weekly meetings, each child will be involved in an individual check-in during each session to address any difficulties and gauge their understanding of concepts. The children will have assignments to work on at home to help solidify their understanding of concepts addressed in the meetings. HBC Detectives is a fun way to improve your child’s social skills and have a blast!

ABLE2 Programs
ABLE2 strives to deliver programming that helps build an inclusive community in Ottawa, where everyone can participate, according to their abilities, as full community members.
Impact evaluations clearly show that inclusion, the reduction of loneliness and isolation, and the resulting improvement in mental and physical health have a significant positive benefit on the lives of people with disabilities, their families, our volunteers and partners, and the community at large.
